Music Dump
Sep. 18th, 2006 11:47 amThis is a little music meme, because I feel like sharing the bounty of my ginormous playlist with the masses. Granted, it's only 5 songs but can't be too greedy now!
ISIS - In Fiction
ISIS is a great band from Boston that does awesome electronic stuff with guitar (last.fm says it's 'progressive metal/post-rock'). All of their songs are really long, but very full of expression and sometimes almost hypnotic. Damn, that sentence made me sound like a music elitist. Even so, Isis is awesome and more people need to listen to them!
Imogen Heap - I Am In Love With You
Imogen Heap is my new obsession. They're probably on my top 10 favorite groups of all-time. It's one British woman that does some of the greatest indie electronic music EVER. The songs are really relaxing with flowing vocals and smooth rhythms. I highly recommend 'Goodnight and Go', 'Hide and Seek', and 'Clear the Area' too!
Corey Hart - I Wear My Sunglasses At Night
If you haven't heard this song by now, then listen to it! I mean come on, it's a classic. I say he's one of the few undervalued Canadian singers (a Montrealer no less!) but I guess if you're not into 80's rock, the rest of his work wouldn't be that great. Nevertheless, this song is one of the top dance party songs.
Static-X - I'm The One
Time for a completely different genre. Static-X is a great industrial metal band and they have the perfect music for when I want to choke a bitch. 'The Only' is another amazing Static-X song! So if you want music to reflect/accentuate your inner RAGE, here ya go.
Youngbloodz - I'mma Shine
Again, a genre 180. This song has been my current 'weekly obsession' and I can't stop listening to it. It's featured at the end of the movie 'Step Up' and is some great rap to bust out some moves with. I like it mostly because of the violin melody that cuts through the vocals (I like to play along with it on my violin since the phrases are from a classical piece I can't name but I know I've played before). But yeah, I'll admit, I like to dance around my apartment to this song.
So yeah, if you all on my flist like the music linkage, perhaps I'll do this more often.
