I'm pretty sure Karimi had ankle surgery pretty recently (Thursday?) and was only allowed to play for a short time.

This is true, but I think that I would've been more comfortable if he had been substituted with Zandi. He's had a LOT more experience what with playing with a lot of German club teams for a long time.

Sorry to hear about the loss. I don't usually pay attention to sports at all but last night I watched part of the third Stanley Cup game, and I've actually been paying a bit of attention to the World Cup (well, enough to know that Iran had lost before I saw your post). Surprisingly, it's actually sort of fun.

My auxillary teams that I'm cheering for are England and Sweden just for kicks (and because I have an England jersey). I figure it's a good enough excuse to watch them play. :D I am now somewhat over the fact that Iran lost to Mexico, but they better win their next two games or else....GRR!

Haha, I'm pretty into soccer actually. One of my strange quirks and part of my vast collection of interests. :D

Yeaaah, was a bit angry I suppose. :P Have no fear, I am now calm about the result (though I still can't seem to face people speaking Spanish...this is why I live in Canada) and am ready to push it out of my mind like it never happened!
